On the 2nd of October 2023 I sat for an exam at Unisa, which failed to upload because of the University's software failure. There is a 30 minute grace period given for students to upload after the allocated writing period. The stress here one is expected to write emails to lecturers during this period should the PDF fail to upload, under all this stress of racing against time to finish your exam, where does one get time to search for or remember lecturer's email addresses or phone numbers? When you try to upload the exam, you get a download of the examibation paper that you have just used several time and cannot upload your script. When your mind switch from stressing to seeking help as tiime is running out, you go to the app that was invigilating the exam, they get back to you and say they cannot help in that regard as they only monitor. By the time you reach the lecturer via email the time has lapsed and they tell you your problem is not time but not submitting the exam! 🤬 There's more I can say but just too upset to continue, all in all I am sitting with an unsubmitted script and accusations that fail to realise that their system is flawed at the most crucial time in a student's life. During an exam one should be worried about finishing an exam and submitting it not worry about dysfunctinal software where you're not given an alternative to write at a venue and submit your script manually plus this was an open book exam! Rediculous is not even a sufficient word for this circus!
