UNISA are you really an online university?

Registration opened on the 5th of January 2021 and this university decides it's a great time to do a systems update. On this busiest day of the year. When trying to register online (after being assured that I will be able to do so the previous year and that no documentation is missing - yes I was on the campus in person) I received an "academic document lacking" error. Now really! Off to campus I go. When I got there, I was informed that I could not enter as I did not book an appointment online... and which non existent email was suppose to notify me of this change...? So, the process of booking was explained. The thing is, one needs to wait when the new day starts... 00:00... And you can only book of the following day. Great. so 00:00 arrives and try as I might, there was no joy! 4 internet browsers, laptop, tablet and phone plus an hour and a half later the same error " select the date from the calendar" Yes UNISA. I am doing that.... 6 emails and a 3 hour hold later... nothing... absolutely nothing. Oh wait I lie. I can no longer phone the toll free number as UNISA has automatically blocked it (as per service provider vodacom) and I now have to wait 7 days before I can try again.

It's been a week of HELL! Sort your online accessibility out! You are an online institution , are you not? As for your staff telling blatant lies... Well, I hope their KPI's and salary increases reflect their complete incompetence. PS. My closest campus is Sunnyside and YES I am still not registered despite the fact that I tried multiple platforms with NO campus access.
