Special Examination may 2017 and refund issues

<p>I suffer from a chronic illness which means that a lot of my exams have been missed in the past. I have however not given up and have been trying my best. I qualified for the examination but fell ill just before I had to go and write the exams. I had to be taken to a clinic and received treatment for a week. I felt it was unwise to risk writing the exams and then failing by to big a margin as I have not recovered fully yet. I therefore submitted my request for a special examination along with all my specialist’s letters, proof of hospitalization and a letter explaining my condition, along with contact numbers of my specialist.<br /> <br /> I received a mail back from them simply stating the rules and regulations of getting a special examination. I assume that it means that I was denied the opportunity. <br /> <br /> I had a similar situation before in which I paid by studies in full but also fell ill. I immediately requested a refund but UNISA simply ignored my requests and never returned the money they had to refund.<br /> <br /> Stay away from UNISA. Their admin is a mess and they simply refrain from helping students who are in need of assistance. They simply take and take and give nothing back.<br /> <br /> Again, stay away. Rather go to another university like Tuks, Cape Town or Wits.</p>
