Registration nightmare
On the 3rd Jan 18 I registered on the UNISA portal for a BSc Honours programme in Environmental Management.I received an e-mail confirmation that the registration was received via UNISA web server, and that it will take 2 weeks for the institution to process the registration. While registering via the portal,I was requested to fax / post a stamped and signed copy of the full academic record, which I did.I have faxed the proof of payment of the registration fees and the academic record.
To this day I have not received any communication from UNISA about the status of registration.Every day,I check the status via their portal and it shows that registration is in progress.
I have attempted numerous times to call and get clarity on the issue, the lines are never answered..including the number listed for complaints.I have sent an e-mail to enquire about the issue, and all I got was an automated response with a reference number.
The last straw was when I went to the regional offices in Port Elizabeth, when I arrived security said they were closed. An hour before the closing time.I went again to the regional offices today, once again I was told by an angry security officer, that I could not be helped as they are closed ( it was 15H00 when I got there )
Please advise how prospective students are meant to communicate with the instituition, seemily calls /e-mails or even visits to the offices are not the correct means of communication..Which communication channels does UNISA use ?
I am frustrated as I have wasted all this time, running back and forth to get assistance ..I have PAID the registration fees.I could have registered at other institutions that are better equipped to handle the influx of students.
