Please give advice

I have contacted Unisa on 3 different email addresses as well as via sms. Desperately, I stayed on the line for 30 minutes on Tuesday and got through to a person at the Parow centre. My problem: I have registered my son and could not register for MAT0511. The Unisa consultant told me that I need to come into campus so someone can authorise this registration for my son. Drove 100 odd kilometres to Parow just for the student Administration clerk to tell me its a year subject he can do next year only. What is the truth? He met the language requirement and was told he does not need to register for the language compulsory subjects. Is this even true or will I discover afterwards he has wasted a whole semester and cannot progess to other subjects?
