Missing employment contract

I have been an E-Tutor with UNISA since 2014. We get offered contract renewals every 3 years. My 3rd renewal was up at the end of 2019 and I completed all the paperwork and sent them to a gentleman called Tshepo Maphala. He confirmed that all was in order. This was confirmed for a second time about a week ago. I expected to start working by the latest 01 April 2020. Today, I find out that my contract was not captured as renewed ("as far as we know your contract renewal has not been finalised") and this is the reason that I will not have work with UNISA this year.
