If you're considering UNISA, read this.
I joined UNISA in 2019 for a course that would've taken 4 years to complete. From the very start, it was a complete mess and incredibly frustrating.
Throughout the entire year, I received no response from any of my tutors after emailing them about questions, concerns or problems I had regarding my studies. Exam and project dates randomly changed and it was nearly impossible to try to warp my job around their ever-changing schedules, which lead me to miss a few exams and I had to take a supplementary exam instead, which meant no second chances. This meant no second chances for exams if I failed an exam (fortunately I didn't).
Apart from that, the website often went "down for maintenance" for days leading up to assignment deadlines. This lead to due-dates being missed and I was actually penalized for "missing the deadlines", even though I tried uploading my work for days before the deadline due to their bad website. I mailed and explained that I was literally unable to due to the website being down for maintenance, but I got zero responses. In my exam center, the proctors were incredibly uncoordinated and unprofessional. They mumbled over the microphone and it was incredibly hard to figure out what they were saying.
The books were sub-par and had many spelling errors- including the English literacy book.
I passed the year with flying colours but won't be returning to complete my studies anytime soon due to the absolute mess at UNISA. With about 3 years remaining, I decided it was not worth it and I'm so thankful for leaving.
It might be cheap education, but it is absolute garbage.
