A Business Lacking Integrity and Professional Expertise!

<p>During the month of May 2016 our company driver took one of our vehicles a VW Polo Vivo to Unique Auto Sound to have a radio fitted that had been removed from another vehicle installed. This installation resulted in bad workmanship and the central locking of the vehicle damaged.</p> <p>The vehicle was taken to the local agent / dealership in Pietermaritzburg where it was established that two (2) motors for the central locking on the right side of the vehicle were damaged. This was mentioned to the owner of Unique Auto Sound who immediately stated that the fault can’t be with them irrespective of the fact that they had just worked on the vehicle and that there had been no prior problem with the vehicles central locking that I and my driver vouch.</p> <p>There technician was asked to go to the dealership workshop to be shown the problem on his response. The dealership pointed out the problem and why it happened to the technician and acknowledged it stating, “Send us a quote.”</p> <p>Unique Auto Sound’s owner asked then for a report to be sent to from the dealership to which they duly responded stating that Unique Auto Sound’s technician caused the problem and how. After receiving this report they Unique Auto Sound said that it was not sufficient and that they needed a technical report, refusing to pay for the damages caused by them.</p> <p>It was noted that the radio was not working properly after installation and there was no sound, this was confirmed later when having the radio issues sorted at a recommended outlet used by the dealer that the radio’s sound IC’s had been blown.</p> <p>After the fact the vehicle lost power from the battery and it was noted that the aerial that had been installed by Unique Auto Sound being an electronic one was the cause of this.</p> <p>It is not the first time that Unique Auto Sound has done poor work on a vehicle as they attended to another colleague’s vehicle a VW earlier last year causing the exact same problem.</p> <p>Unique Auto Sound’s whole response to this situation has been absolutely unprofessional and I would recommend that people approach this company located at 281 Boom Street, Pietermaritzburg with caution regarding any radio installation being done, in particular VW owners.</p>
