****** - stay away!!!
On Monday, 18 May 2026 @ 07:07 am, I received the below email from Unifi: Hi Mr Mnikina, Your Unifi account is now fully settled. Thank you for making the payment. However, there is an overpayment on your account. Please provide us with your banking details for the refund process.
I responded on the same day @07:21am providing them with my banking details.
On Tuesday, 19 May 2026 I followed up with a call, they confirmed to have received my email and that I should expect the refund payment of R1 296.05 in my account on Thursday, 21 May 2026 and I should call them back if that does not happen.
On Friday, 22 May I checked my account and saw that the refund was not paid. I called Unifi as per their instruction, they informed me that they funds were paid to Hyphen which came as a surprised to me because that was not the original agreement. They were not able to provide me with a reason why money was paid to Hyphen instead of me directly. I made contact with Hyphen querying this issue, they informed me to provide a POP from Unifi to them so that they can track the payment and process the refund to my account, that's where my issues with Unifi escalated.
Called Unifi again and asked them to provide me with a POP as per Hyphen's request, Unifi sent me from pillar to post giving all the excuses they can think of, I was told the following:
1. They're unable to provide the POP because they're having issues with their bank. 2. I must send an email requesting the POP, which I did 3. My case is with their finance department, they don't have an extension so I can't speak to them directly, in fact I am not allowed to speak to them at all. 4. They can only send me a statement showing the transfer to Hyphen (which they did, but that was not sufficient for Hyphen)
From 22 May 2026 till today, 9 June 2026 I have been going back and forth with Unifi for my money with no luck, they're refusing to send me the POP of the money they're claiming to have paid to Hyphen.
I really don't understand why it is so difficult for them to provide the POP is they indeed made the payment.
Hyphe
I have come to the conclusion that they did not make the payment, otherwise they wouldn't be fighting to hard and avoiding sending me the POP. Those people are complicit in my view, from the call center agents right through to the finance department, all of them are f*ck*n ******.
I want my money, I am now logging a complaint with NCR
