****ty service from Umvuzo health. They are ********!!!!

Umvuzo health is a money making ****!!! They don’t are about the members health and well being. I have a tumour on the scalp, I called medical aid and told them I want to have it removed. One of their female consultants told me to go to a GP and ask her to refer me to a surgeon. I did. I was referred to a surgeon, the surgeon booked me for the following week to remove the tumour. Firstly the specialists don’t take Umvuzo medical aid for consultation. They tell a member to pay cash and claim from medical aid. I paid R950 for that visit and now medical aid is saying they are not gonna refund that money because they scheme rate is R400. How can they set R400 as a scheme rate for a specialist? Do they think there’s a specialist that charges R400?. Anyway after The surgeon had booked me to have a tumour removed and wrote tumour code 4945 Umvuzo health refused to give me authorisation to have the tumour removed. Said I should send a picture of the tumour , I sent the picture of my condition which is also weirded coz why do they want people to send pictures of they conditions to them, what if it was on a private part?! Anyway I sent pictures, they looked at the picture and decided the tumour was less than 4cm so I could not remove it, they declined authorisation from just looking at a picture. I called the doctor asking if the code is for small tumours. The doctor said the code he sent them is for tumours bigger than 4cm. Now I’m sitting at home with a growing and painful tumour that I don’t even know what else it’s affecting because Umvuzo health declined authorisation based on looking at a picture that could have been taken from far. The procedure was going to be R1700 but they won’t let me have the procedure. After paying R950 consultation to a surgeon that they don’t even wanna pay back they cancelled the whole thing. R950 went to waste and I still have a growing tumour on the head but I have medical aid that i pay every month. Umvuzo health and universal health are money making scheme and NOT medical aid! Doctors DON’T take Umvuzo medical aid because they don’t pay, they tell members to pay cash and claim from medical aid and when you claim you don’t get even half of what you paid because they tell you about scheme rates. I also went to an optometrist and was told they can’t help me with Umvuzo they don’t take it anymore because they don’t pay, they still owe them money from 3 years ago!! People should stop joining that ****ty medical aid because on top of being sick you‘ll also get stressed by they selfishness. I’m not just saying this because I’m angry as hell, but it’s true. I’m sitting here with a tumour on the head that they won’t allow me to remove. They won’t let me go to a hospital either. And at work you can’t just change medical aids, you wait for a certain period, so I’m gonna continue paying these ******** they just take my hard earned money with no shame while they refuse to give me any service. I’ve never felt so ****med!
