STAY AWAY FROM UMVUZO

This is by far the worst medical aid scheme anyone can belong to!!!

I would advise anyone who needs a professional medical aid to go for well known names like Discovery, Momentum etc. People who care for their members health and well-being.

UMVUZO is a pathetic, unprofessional, has a team with poor customer service and the whole organization seems to be a mess!! I sent countless emails and made numerous calls requesting to change my GP having to cc literally every email address of theirs that I could find. It took 4 months for them to finally do so after I had spent my own money paying for medication and doctor's visits!!! The nail in the coffin was when I needed medication and I was told my medical aid doesn't recognize the doctor I nominated whereas this is a Dr on their network of Dr's!!! I again had to pay for my own medication while UMVUZO staff were still collecting their toys.

A week later I tested positive for Covid-19 and was not able to get adequate medication because the issue of getting medication via my medical aid had not been resolved!! I got a deplorable and pitiful call from one of their representatives and she told me to go buy Vicks and Eucalyptus oil to steam with???!!!! WHY AM I PAYING THOUSANDS OF RANDS TO A MEDICAL AID IF YOU'RE GOING TO TELL ME SUCH USELESS ADVICE!!!!????

No one has gotten back to me about anything, I still need medication, and I fear what happens in the event of one being hospitalized and needing services from this excuse of a medical aid!!!

To anyone who reads this, my advice is STAY AWAY FROM UMVUZO!!!!
