PATHETIC SERVICE
My wife did Blood tests on the 22/03/2023 for anaemia.Her results showed that haemoglobin was very low .The doctor prescribed Venofer drip .She phoned in on the 27th of march for Authorisation ,its the 29th of March Umvuso has still not authorised her medication.The blood results and prescription script was sent they can see how low the figures are but they are not doing anything.We have been phoning since Monday the 27th waisting airtime because the call centre people put you on hold then a new person answers the call and I must explain from the start why I am calling.Must my wife die first before she gets authorisation for her medication?The medical aid is paid monthly but we are subjected to pathetic service!!IF ANYONE READS THIS AND WAS THINKING OF JOINING UMVUSO MEDICAL AID DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!!

Umvuzo health is not denying treatment for Mrs Mokoena's condition, there is some clinical information that is required for the Medical Advisor to approve an authorisation. This is done to mitigate the risk and manage cost, that might impact members' contributions.
Our Clinical Consultant is in contact with Mrs Mokoena to resolve this matter.
