Clarification Needed

I’m not sure how to handle this anymore. I was hospitalized in July and followed the correct procedure with my medical aid to request authorization. After my discharge, a month later I started receiving emails from lawyers demanding that I settle the account.

I immediately called my medical aid, and they told me that they had paid the bill. However, I kept receiving the emails and assumed they were automated since the medical aid had already paid. I included my medical aid in the emails I received to make sure they would settle the bill, as I was acting as a middleman. Even though I included them, I never saw any response.

Now I’m still getting emails saying that I owe money, and I’m afraid I will end up blacklisted because this debt is in my name. Why is this happening? What am I paying my medical for? What service am I paying? Almost 6 months and yet nothing concrete happened?
