BREAK-IN DURING NIGHT JUNE 2015

IExchange booked us into Umhlanga Cabanas from Fri 5 June 2015 for a week. Following Wed morning at <br> about 5.50am I woke up and found the light in the room on ? I jumped up and saw the sliding patio door open then knew there was a break-in. I immediately went to the next door unit 36 only to discover that they had been burgled too. Security was alerted immediately. The Security guy said he saw someone in black hoodie with backpack hanging from 1st floor at 3.30am. He says he called for backup but did not go and see if the Units of the residents were broken into or not. However, the police arrived later and took our statements. Our loss was huge especially because of cell phones. When I asked Mr du Toit how I should be submitting my claim he said he had to discuss the matter with his Reg Mngr. He later informed me that their ins co. will not be entertaining claim because there was no forced entry? When Mr du Toit arrived at the Resort he said the guys came in from the outside as he saw the handle Unit 35 was bent. There were no keys for Unit 36! I took the matter up with VMS ***. Spoke to Judy Pousson. Later told via email to claim from my personal ins as no forced entry!
