Bad Service and Attitude from POOLS FOR YOU

A guy named Daniel David from Pools for you ( part of UMBUSO RESTORATION PROJECTS according to him and his letterhead) was given the job of renovating our pool and the paving. He came and measured numerous times then gave us a quote and assured us we would be very happy, just leave it to him. He asked for payment in stages which we did immediately as he requested it as he started off very well. He spoke nicely, took and returned calls and messages and well, all round seemed to be a good, honest guy and we believed him. He placed a subcontractor to do the paving during which time I made numerous calls to him after seeing the kind of work being done, again he continued to assure me he would sort it out until the work was dragged from a 3 day job to a 2 week job and still not done correctly. We ended off with "rock art paving" that is cracking before even being completed, water standing all over due to levels not being done properly and stones showing in places as not enough cement had been used. Daniel attempted to sort it out but failed then his attitude and basically entire behaviour changed. He started dragging and not turning up then coming up with excuses, either blaming the guy he put there to do the paving in the first place or the weather but wasn't on site even in good weather. He became very arrogant. We also paid him R1800 to have a New DB Board installed which was not working properly but he insists we know nothing, according to him its a brand new DB Box therefore it is working 100%. He eventually did come and check it with his electrician who came for the first time to do anything on the DB Board and then he said the breaker is the problem and not the timer as he originally thought. After making numerous calls and messages to him he eventually came through and claimed to have sorted the system out. Needless to say there is still a problem, the timer is not working and the pump only works on the over ride switch. Thankfully we managed to get him to refund us for the paving that is left in a mess. We asked him to please drop off the receipt for the DB Box so we can sort it out but he refused. We asked him to refund the DB Box money but he refused that too. He refuses to even drop the receipt off in the post box and became very vulgar and rude via messages to my husband. He plain out said he will not give us the receipt and continued with vulgarity. We are really in shock with this guy, what he portrayed himself as first to what he turned out to be is shocking. The pool supposedly has a 3 year guarantee which he refuses to honour but that's not surprising if he has left us with a dysfunctional DB Board and refuses to even provide us with the receipt so we can have it sorted out, after all he was paid for it in full. Daniel gave us a quote listing the charges seperately for each thing but when his guy messed up his whole attitude changed and his true nature revealed.
