Ultra Solar - Alberton............cheap materials causes non working solar system
Dear Fellow Soth Africans, Please be aware of the company called Ultra Solar (in Alberton). They claim to be specialists in Solar heating and specifically Solar heating of pool water. This Solar heating system works with black pipes and black mats on the roof, where the water is pumped through to be heated by the sun. So the pipes and matts get very warm, but that's what you want. This company installed a solar system on my new house and not so long after the installation, the black pipes started to disform. The advice was from the company ( the secialist) that the pipes are getting too warm in the sun, so that's why they melt! OMW.....really? We buy the system to get hot, to heat up the water that goes through. And now the pipes melt? Long story short, it's clear that this company is not interested in a good working system, so they use cheap and thin materials. Resulting in melting black pipes on the roof and a leaking system. And after some discussions with the company, they offered (if I pay for it again) to replace their wrong material pipes. So, please avoid this crowd. They seem to know what they are doing, but are actually cheating with materials and functionality. Marvin

We do not use cheap materials, all our product are SABS approved, we only use ABS piping on the roof with EPDM rubber that can not melt as described by client. This client does not run his solar panels during load shedding, so the ABS piping gets up to 60° degrees and more with no water running throught pipes, so when the pool pump does come on after load shedding causing cold water to go throught piping that is 60° and more, this then causing piping to rapidly shrink causing piping to either crack or go flat (not melting as per client) This client does not understand this, as mentioned to him numerous times. We have offered to him to come replace piping, as the guarantee does not cover damages caused by load shedding, storm, acts of god etc. The guarantee states that the solar system must run from 8am to 5pm in summer months and 9am to 4pm in winter months, if this is not done, the guarantee is voided. We also offered the client to come see the piping specifications that is SABS approved from our supplier. We are in business for more then 30 years, and have never had this problem before load shedding, now load shedding started causing some problems with piping even with ABS materials, and we are aware of this issue, and making sure that the clients do run the system during these times off load shedding. The solar system must have constant water running through panels to stay cool and warm water returning to pool. Warm water meaning only temp between 30° and 36° degrees. If client thinks our material is cheap, we can show him the prices from our supplier with the SABS approval. Please note this is the piping leading to solar system and not the panels as the panels have a life expectancy of 30 years. The facts they state are absolute BS.
We are running an off the grid solar (for power) system in the house for 3 years already. So loadshedding doesnt happen here. Again, this company doesnt listen when we inform them about this. The system doesnt get effected by loadshedding..........sorry for that excuse.
Offered to repair it..........another BS story. They offered to repair their own cheap piping and we had to pay for that as well..........what service is that?
So, the solar systems on the roof, to collect sun heat work very well. Just make sure that you deal with the correct company who uses the correct materials for the piping. Otherwise you are wasting your money.
One word of advise, stay away from Ultra Solar if you want a decent system.

We have all proof on our whatsapp and emails that was given to client. Client has a guarantee for 2 years, that we would replace piping with no charge. But client did not want to listen. He wanted to have other peoples opinion. Go see all our 5 star review, and you will know we are the best in business. We will not further entertain the client with back and forth messages.
