We have had the most horrible and disgusting experience with the company and staff of UG homes. My partner and I are first time home buyers and I believe that was used against us from the beginning. Our first mistake was not checking for reviews of the agent before buying a house them. We were approached by Akim and believed we would have a great experience with him which we did before the sale went through. Akim then introduced us to Beauty whose Akim's 'manager'. She made it evident from day one that we were never her clients because she did not have no time for us and always had to rush to her clients but Akim tried to assure us that we were his first priority as if we had questions, he would try to get us the answers, not all the time but tried. We finally got a house and they started building, building process took atleat 8 months for the house to be completed. Akim and Beauty were nonexistence at this point, we would goto the site and check progress of the house which Standard bank advised us to do. Most of issues started when the house was 'complete', Beauty wanted us to sign the happy letter ASAP even though pumbling wasn't 100%, some doors were missing handles, some of the rooms lights were not functional, shower had no glass door, some plugs in the house were not working. We did not sign the happy letter, they delayed for more two to three weeks but finally 'decided' to fix those issues. When we signed the happy letter everything was in excellent condition as it seemed. We spent the night in the house and the following day we switched the geyser on and some how the electricity tripped. Called the developer and they sent two bogus electricians (Bongani and some yong guy), those people were so cluelessbas they needed to be on the call the whole time as they had to speak to a real electrician to tell them what to do and which codes to use to do their investigation. Those guys left without doing anything!! UG homes did not want to take any accountability and said we needed to speak to the municipality, we spent the night without electricity with our two sons. The electrician from the municipality came and discovered that the installation of the electricity was done incorrectly from the start. They called the developers and even then when they are told they did nonsense, they still don't want take accountability and according to the municipality electrician, the developer did not even give them the COC that indicates the electricity was correctly installed and safe to use. So our question is, how did Standard bank approve this house as we were made to believe that they also evaluate the house before it is sold to the client? This whole incident happened on the weekend of the 4th of July but can you believe that they haven't fixed the electricity and we were told they will give us a new electricity box once they have received the new stork as they buy things in bulk. This month end Standard bank will take their second bond payment to a house that we are not even living in. I know UG homes does not deal with complaints from their clients as I have sent numerous emails to them raising our concerns but only got a call from Nomusa early last week and promised she will assist but we are still out of electricity.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the manner in which my home purchase and design requests were handled. When I started my application in March 2025, I specifically requested a house design with the patio and sliding door facing the lake. During my discussions with the salesperson, I was informed that this design was no longer possible due to municipal requirements and that a different plan, similar to those used in Leopards Rest Estate, had to be implemented. Although I was unhappy with this change, I agreed to proceed because I love the area and urgently needed a home. I further requested that, if possible, the patio and sliding door be positioned to face the lake. The salesperson advised me that he had attempted to motivate my request, but that it had been declined. Based on this information, I accepted the situation and allowed the construction to continue. I moved into my home in April 2026. To my surprise and disappointment, I have now observed that UG Homes is currently constructing a house using the original design, with the patio and sliding door facing the direction I had initially requested. This raises serious concerns about the reasons that were provided to me at the time. I feel that I was misled and treated unfairly. Had I been given accurate information from the beginning, I would have been in a position to make an informed decision regarding my purchase. Purchasing a home is a long-term commitment that can take up to 20 years to repay, and customers should be treated with honesty, transparency, and fairness throughout the process. It is particularly frustrating to see houses being built in the same area, using the same plan, yet with features that I was told were not permitted. This has left me feeling deceived and undervalued as a customer. I kindly request a formal explanation regarding: Why my requested design and orientation were declined. Why similar homes are now being constructed with the same design features I requested. Whether any remedy or accommodation can be offered in light of the circumstances. I look forward to receiving your response and hope that this matter can be addressed fairly and professionally.
