Uk emporium have unpleasant staff

2 weeks ago NEW So I am from the Uk number 1 I think I should point that out before posting this review, I won’t lie I really did enjoy coming to the store and getting to have all the goodies I missed so much having been away from the uk for 10 years The pricing is definitely great compared to other import stores, and they usually have a large range of stuff But My partner and I have now been here 4 times and each time we have been treated so awful by the staff if it weren’t for the staff this would honestly be a great store but they are truly awful They are not friendly whatsoever and god forbid you ask them a question and then they get so upset All we do is ask if they have stock of something and instead of just being a decent human about it and simply saying “no sorry not at the moment” they will get such attitudes and huff and puff and throw tantrums about how they don’t have and don’t know when they will and it’s like honestly we were just asking a question there is no need to be so rude

My cousin actually introduced me to the store saying you will find all the goodies but ignore the staff they horrible And frankly I don’t think we should have to just ignore the staff we are spending our money supporting them the least they could do is treat there customers kindly

The last 3 times I was there I spent over R500 in that store each time I remember my 3rd time there they were having technical difficulties with the card machine and she starting treating everyone so badly even tho no one even complained I feel like they just mad for no reason I was there recently cause my ***friends very sickly gran wanted some Mcvities digestive biscuits and some original Jaffa cakes and we decided we’d get them for her cause she hasn’t returned to the uk since the 90’s and it’s all she’s been asking for, and she has dementia so it meant a lot to us that these sweets were something she specifically could remember, first as we walked in we look for the digestives but we couldn't find them so my partner asked the lady at the till if they had and very rudely she answered we do stock them but we don’t know when we will have them again, my ***friend tried to be kind as he could see she was stressed and said sorry “I’m sure you hear this all day” we were trying to be understanding despite every time being in that store we have been treated like garbage, my blood was already boiling as it was getting to much for me But I left it, then my ***friend spotted a chocolate he wanted to try which was R20 with us being so upset we bought the chocolate WHICH HE SWIPED HES CARD FOR AS WE NEVER CARRY CASH ON US EVER, no problems at all as we left the store we had realised we forgot the Jaffa cakes so my ***friend ran in politely apologised and wanted to quickly grab the Jaffa cakes as we forgot and then a different lady was behind the till she then very rudely stated we do not swipe under R50 So my ***friend mentioned that he literally swiped for under R50 20 seconds ago She huffed and puffed and threw a tantrum so he gave her the box of Jaffa cakes and said you know what take this I don’t even want it and he left

I won’t be supporting them anymore I think they forget they are not the only place you can get imported goods In the area there are plenty of places

That kind of treatment would not be tolerated in England anyways so you definitely won’t be getting the uk experience, also South Africans don’t treat each other this way either, so if you feel like having someone speak to you in an awful tone and snap at you for no reason this is the place for you

So if you want and honest opinion sure you will find some great stuff here but you will be treated horribly in a place where you are spending your money These woman need to go to therapy and learn how to treat people like human beings They are unnecessarily rude and it’s off putting

And I’m proud to say they’ve lost a customer!
