UCT Online High School is a waste of time and money

When you register your child with them you are informed that you will need to give a terms notice to remove your child. Fair enough i understand this. But it also states that you must give this notice prior to the term starting. I only received my daughters report the Friday of the first week of the second term. I then proceeded to give notice on the Monday morning to be told that I will be required to not only pay for the full second term but also the first month of the third term. When I queried why I am paying for the next term, they said I should have noted that the fees policy requires 3 months notice.

Now why would you have two different policies???? Because this place is not run like a school but more like a business for profit. Not once during the first term was I contact by any of the teachers to inform me that my child was not coping.

We have also been struggling for the past few weeks to try and get them to give her access to redo two formal assessments which were due today. Guess what we never got access!!!

With regards to paying ones fees they refuse to give banking details and force parents to compete payments via card or net cash debit order. Even after cancelling my debit order they proceeded to attempt to deduct fees from my account this month using the card details I used when doing the payment for the prior month. How is this legal!

So parents before you consider enrolling your child please bear in mind that getting your child out of this school will cost you more than you bargain for!!
