Repeated Exam Submission Problems and Poor Student Support
This is the second time my daughter has experienced problems submitting her academic work at UCT Online High School. The first incident involved a Natural Sciences assessment, and now the same problem has happened during her final examination. She completed her exam and tried repeatedly to submit it, but it failed. She is now crying and worried about the consequences. I emailed the school but am still waiting for a response. There is no direct *** for urgent assistance. I am disappointed that fee follow-ups seem more urgent than serious academic concerns. I expect the school to investigate both incidents, ensure my daughter is treated fairly, and explain what steps they have taken to assist her. I expect a direct response to this complaint, not a generic reply directing me back to email support.
Good day Thanyani,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We understand how distressing submission difficulties can be for both learners and their families, particularly during examinations, and we take these concerns seriously.
UCT Online High School has established assessment procedures that require learners to submit their completed work through the Online Campus within the prescribed submission period. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept submissions that are not made within the designated process and within the designated period. In addition, where technical difficulties are experienced, learners are encouraged to contact our Support Team immediately with valid evidence so that the matter can be investigated and appropriate guidance provided.
We would also like to confirm that our Support Team has engaged directly with both you and your learner following the emails received regarding these concerns. We remain committed to ensuring that the matters raised are addressed through the appropriate support channels.
We recognise the importance of treating each concern fairly and assessing reported submission issues based on the available information and supporting evidence, in accordance with the applicable assessment procedures.
We acknowledge your concerns regarding access to urgent assistance and remain committed to supporting our learners while ensuring that assessment requirements are applied consistently and fairly.
Kind Regards,
UCT Online High School
