Regretful

My daughter attends school at a tutor centre and they are the ones who suggested UCT online highschool to me. My daughter found it difficult to assimilate with the programme itself and for this I blame the school I feel they did not do their due delligence where uct is concerned because of this they were unable to monitor my daughters work and participation on the programme I have taken this up with them.

My main issue with UCT OH is how they seem to ignore and take accountability for possible technical difficulties experienced by my daughter through their programme. She had missed the deadline for two assignments and when she was trying to catch up on them mby Sunday when it came time to submit the submit button was not available. I enquired about this and was told that the window for submission of those assessments was now closed I did not want to make a big deal of this even though the window was not supposed to be closed as Sunday had not come yet which is what their communication said after all those assessments were supposed to have been done at the tutor center so I did not place blame on them. When it came time to write exams though and we were supposed to download the invigilator app we watched the instruction video with my daughter and commenced to try and download and register (this was a saturday and exams were due to start on monday). We succeeded with the download but the app refused to register my daughter. We spent hours trying to figure out what to do but we failed. Sunday we tried again to register and were panicking because the following day was the day of the exams but again we had no luck. Monday came and the teachers at the tutor centre tried with no luck. Tuesday they tried again but had no luck with registering it was Tuesday afternoon that an IT specialist was called by the school and he figured out what the problem was and this was able to register my daughter through a phone that was not my own. At this point she has missed tests for Monday and Tuesday but was able to commence with the rest of the tests but still faced some more difficulties with the same app when on one occasion the app refused to register her again and the IT guy advised we change passwords which we did and than it allowed for registration another occasion it refused to send all the files uploaded and when I tried to call their tech department there was no response I literally spent the whole night stressed because I know should the files not go through uct will punish my daughter for it. I app**** for excusals for the 2 exams she missed but was denied twice and they cited that my daughter missed her live sessions and therefore missed important information to which I asked how was that relevant to technical difficulties to show that they are u bothered by them as an issue they don't even have the reason of tech difficulties as an option when one applies for excusals let alone the fact that they told me they refused my requests because of my reasons which were technical difficulties.

I'll not even get into their financial department that is another horror story for another day

For the first time in her life my daughter who has been a B+ average student all her life has failed first term. I can't even show her the report as she had been crying non stop because of all the anxiety. I wish I had done my due diligence and read all these reviews I would had been saved this trauma and not given my money away for nothing
