Our journey with UCTOHS

In 2021 I experienced a financial crunch after a major change in family dynamics. This forced me to look for alternative schooling for my three children. A relative mentioned that UCTOHS is launching the following year. I did not hesitate and app**** in November 2021. I was sold on UCTOHS because it was still offering a more formalised education with specialist teachers and support coaches as opposed to homeschooling which was not what I was looking for. All three children started with UCTOHS in 2022. The 1st term was a bit challenging for them as the structure was new and unfami**** to them. However, by 2nd term they were settled in and gotten comfortable. Due to the flexible nature & self-paced learning style of the school structure, each of my children developed their own working style. This improved their sense of independence & discipline which are important life skills. As a parent and guardian, I am honestly happy with UCTOHS. Not only did I cut down on private school fee costs, but saved on transport costs, uniforms and fancy lunch boxes. The flexible nature of UCTOHS enabled my children to visit their grandparent's place in another province without necessarily waiting for school holidays, as long as they have access to WIFI. They are able to attend live session & do their school work anywhere. The ConnectED App is the best & most user-friendly tool for me as a guardian to track my children's progress. My son recently completed his Matric & had scored 4 distinctions with a 99% mark for Physical Science. I am confident that the learning style & structure of UCTOHS has set the pace for him to easily adjust to a university environment. My 2 daughters are currently in Grade 11 and 12 respectively. We are already eagerly looking forward to this year with UCTOHS.
