Dropped the Ball

As a parent whose child has been enrolled in UCT Online High School for some time now, I cannot express enough my disappointment and frustration with the recent decision to discontinue the Cambridge curriculum with immediate effect. This abrupt and unannounced change has left us all scrambling for options, unsure of our children's educational future.

The decision to abruptly drop the Cambridge curriculum without any prior notice or consultation is not only unprofessional but also shocking. Students were left in the lurch, some in the midst of writing their tests, with no warning or opportunity to plan for alternative educational paths. This lack of consideration for the students' academic progress and their future prospects is deeply concerning.

The Cambridge curriculum is internationally recognized for its rigor and quality, and many parents, including myself, chose UCT Online High School specifically for this reason. To have this fundamental aspect of the education system suddenly pulled out from under us is not only disruptive but also unfair to the students who have invested their time and effort into studying under this curriculum.

Furthermore, the manner in which this decision was communicated, or rather not communicated, reflects a severe lack of professionalism on the part of UCT Online High School. Parents and students should have been informed well in advance of any considerations to change the curriculum so that we could adequately plan for the future education of our children.

Instead, we find ourselves in a state of uncer*****y, hastily searching for alternative educational options that may not match the standard and quality we had come to expect from UCT OHS. This situation could have been handled much better, with proper communication, transparency, and consideration for the students and their families.

In conclusion, the discontinuation of the Cambridge curriculum by UCT Online High School with immediate effect, without prior notice or consultation, is a shocking and unprofessional decision that has left many of us reeling and scrambling for alternatives. This lack of consideration for the students' academic well-being and future prospects is deeply disappointing and should serve as a wake-up call for the school administration to handle such matters with more care and foresight in the future.
