Business First, School Second
I decided to withdraw my son from UCT Online High School because his grades were slipping, not blaming the school for that in any way. We tried something different it did not work, now I have to do what is best for my son. Just please also know that this school is not a 'school' exactly, it is firstly a business which cares about there needs first before all else and secondly it is distance learning with some support offered if the kids asks for it.
My gripe is the 3 month notice period and how technical the school gets when it comes to us paying them, but God forbid the technicality sways in your favour, then they will still find a way to favour themselves. There fees handbook, which they love attaching to their correspondence for you to never forget what you signed up for, states that I will only be liable for 3 months payment after the month in which the guardian has given notice.
We I gave notice on 30 November 2023, the coach then only informed the 'school' on 1 Dec of the withdrawal and now they want to charge me for Jan, Feb and Mar instead of Dec, Jan and Feb.
The fees handbook does not say the month in which notice is received. I am not happy and again their best interest is being put first. They have no regard for the next person Cant entrust my son's future with people who only look out for themselves.
Trying to resolve the matter via email has also been super frustrating. Why can no one just pick up a phone and deal with us as if we are human beings and not AI!!!!!
