I did what I thought would be a safe bet. Got the kitchen company at builders to install my kitchen. Heres how it works. The staff at builders will design a kitchen for you. Looks impressive. Then 2 - 3 weeks later they send an independant contractor to install. Suddenly you find the lovely shiny gloss kitchen you designed to the ceiling has a cheap matt wood section to the ceiling. Then you notice all your cupboards have a divider through the middle. So your cannot put a dish larger than 23cm in your 49 cm cupboard. Then the fun starts. You ask the contractor why your cupboard space is comprimised and why cheap wood in places. "I dont know this is what I was given" is all you will get. Phone UCAN kitchens in Natal. They seem to have a policy not to talk to the public. I left 5 messages and never got a reply. So I went back to builders. The kitchens they have installed instore are beutiful. You will not get that kitchen. The kitchen people working at builders admitted they have very little control. All they take is orders. I looked at the jobcard on the builders system. They should have installed gloss wood everywhere according to this. Anyhow all UCAN kitchen s have to offer is "Thats what we install" and nothing else. I have had to get another kitchen company to take out their cupboard dividers and make my kitchen a uniform colour. They will NOT do anything about it. I think they are called UCAN because what they are trying to tell you is UCAN go to hell we have your money now.

Sashan from Ucan kitchens phoned me to try to sort things out. I feel a lot better that my problems will receive attention and they seem to be a reputable company that take their clients complaints seriously.
