Disgusting portrayal of service

In mid July of this year I needed to replace two tyres on my Toyota Hilux and as the set of tyres on my vehicle were BF Goodrich I had to order the same tyres. My 1st search on the internet for affordable tyres took me to a company called Tyres.co.za and after looking at the prices they were advertising I decided to purchase the set from them as they were cheaper than the majority of the other stockists. I placed the order in mid July as we were heading on a three week holiday to the Kgalagadi towards the end of August with an estimated 5,000 or more Kilometres drive there and back. By placing the order early I wanted to make sure I got the tyres had them fitted and drove with them on for a couple of weeks before we left on holiday.

About a week after ordering and paying via PayFlex I contacted the WhatsApp number on their website (this is the only number)to ask when I could expect delivery of my tyres. To my surprise I received a reply shortly after the message was sent advising that they would check and get back to me. They the advised that the tyes would be delivered the following Tuesday which wasn’t a problem as we still had time before we left. The following Tuesday in the afternoon when nothing arrived I followed up again with an apology from Tyres.co.za saying they would deliver the next day. After a further three weeks of delaying tactics by the owner Thomas and threatening to cancel the order he promised to send me a free tyre for all the inconvenience they have caused and to “restore the trust” so I foolishly believed him and didn’t cancel my order. Once again I had to keep following up on a daily basis with the same delaying tactic day after day which Thomas is a master at. Eventually two days before we were to leave on holiday I cancelled my order and requested a refund, as the refund through PayFlex takes ten days I had to dig into my holiday fund to go and buy the Tyres at TyreMart which were readily available. Tyres.co.za asked that I not post any negative comments as they were still going to send me the free tyre which I stupidly agreed to. Well here we are three months down the line and still nothing hence this write up.

I am not sue how Tyres.co.za stay in business as my complaint is not unique and I strongly advise that when looking for tyres you rather buy from a reputable supplier.
