Chancing internet purchasing during Lockdown.
During June 2020 I shopped around for tyres for my Opel Astra and found that retail tyre outlets were experiencing supply problems with good/popular brands of tyres. In desperation I turned to an internet/online tyre supplier i.e. tyres.co.za, who were selling my preferred tyres at a promotional discount price. I performed a single check; verification of their existence with one of their installation agents, part of a popular (branded) tyre concern. On 8th June 2020 I placed an order and paid for the supply and installation of four Goodyear tyres. When tyres.co.za started experiencing their own supplier problems resulting on them reneging on installation appointments, I naturally started worrying, especially since they, through Thomas Rundle, kept on being patient with me when I voiced my concerns, remained apologetic to a tee and even offered me a 50%, yes 50%, refund after their second installation appointment cancellation. To my relief my tyres were balanced and installed and my wheels were aligned (all included in the tyre price) on June 18th with the installer providing excellent service itself. So; after fearing that I might've fallen victim to an internet ****, I was happy to walk away satisfied at this point; therefore my pleasant surprise when I received my 50% refund as promised later the same day! In the end I got the tyres I desired and at approximately 35% of the normal retail price, all with excellent service! My thanks to Thomas Rundle; I have no reservations in recommending tyres.co.za to all my acquaintances. Godfrey Reynolds.
