UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED FAMILY

June 2020 i lost my grandmother due to negligence from Tygerberg Hospital. she was admitted on Wednesday afternoon 3rd June with water on her lungs. her private doctor called prior to us taking her to hospital informing the doctors that a patient will be coming their way with severe water on her lungs, when my parents took her in, they could not stay due to this pandemic and lockdown. she has test done the entire Wednesday night, and Thursday morning,we still did not receive feedback from the hospital nor was the water drained on her lungs. also note both her lungs was completely filled with fluids, she only had inches left on both lungs. the nurses and matrons left her there, did not assist her, nor give her any meds to relieve her pain. sh asked us to bring her something to drink, she was so weak she could not open the liquids we brought her to drink and worst part was the nurses did not even help her. she even dirtier herself and was refused diapers from the hospital. we had to take to her a few. thursday evening she was still not assisted and when we tried calling the doctors we got no responds or they just didn't pick up the phone. Friday morning when we spoke to her we could hear that she was getting even weaker. the time the doctor decides to call us, was Friday 5th June, past 11pm informing us not about her test results but that she just past away. how pathetic can a hospital be. she had heart failure and water was never drained. 3 damn days in hospital, no help from nurses, no pain relieve, absolutely plain suffering and for what? she was healthy person, so how does she die within 3 days. there escape goat was she had covid, but funny part about that was the test we got done showed she never had covid. and how is it that she had it but her entire family did not have it, and we lived in the same house, the Wednesday she went to hospital, that morning i still fed her, gave her medication, so how did she just die. we are disgusted with the treatment she received and she was a Tygerberg patient for about 45years, and that was the thanks she received.
