Trauma Unit - No manners!!!

Trauma Unit:

On 12 January I accompanied a colleague of mine that was admitted to the trauma unit. While I was waiting there, a lady asked one of the 2 women doctors standing there, in a very nice manner, if she can just come and listen to something the patient she is with would like to ask her. And this doctor exploded, SHOUTING that they are the only 2 that need to run that whole floor and he just has to wait. (That after I was seeing them on their cellphones, making jokes and some other nurse/doctor learning them an African language) When the lady tried to explain that he just wants to have something for pain, he has been laying there for 3 hours without any notice that has been taken of him, she was shouting the whole time, while her colleague just started shouting ass well. After they left, a sister came to them and asked what was wrong, the lady explained and the sister apologized for their behavior - all done in a real professional manner.

Now I really don't care if they were the only two doctors on shift and that they have the badge of a doctor. Basic manners does not cost you anything. And if that is the way they speak to patients that have already gone through so much trauma already to get there, they really are in the wrong profession. They are clearly not in that profession to be doctors for their patients. That is just basic human manners that I thought all doctors would have. I really have never experienced such rudeness from a doctor, never.

Just to add on, according to my colleague, the night shift is a totally different experience - 10/10 to them. Apparently as soon as they got on shift, that man also got something for pain - and my colleague can only say good things about them.

I really hope that these 2 ladies will be dealt with in the appropriate manner. I really can't think that this is the way that they speak to patients on a daily basis. Nobody needs that kind of rudeness especially after that trauma that they went through, especially not from the doctors.
