Poor service

I would just like to notify you of my total disgust and disappointment in the service I got from TAH Bellville on Wednesday, 26 October 2022.

My Dachshund was sick, he was coughing and vomiting and I had nowhere to take him but to TAH Bellville as it was 19:00 and all the other VETS were closed.

I told them that my dog was coughing and vomiting, the VET felt his tummy, took his temperature and told me that he was dehydrated and he gave him an injection for the nausea and injected him with saline for the dehydration. He then said that he wants to admit him and do blood tests and that it would cost approximately R5000. When I said that I do not have R5000, he said ok and told me to come back if he does not get better. This cost me R1281.

He was not getting better overnight and on Thursday morning I took my dog to AACL in Epping. They listened to his chest and checked his gums (TAH did not do one of the two) and my dog was diagnosed with kennel cough and anemia.

Now I would like to know, what did I pay R1281 for? They only want to admit animals to make money and when you say that you do not have thousands of rands to pay, they do not even bother to do a proper examination.

I want my money back, as I received pathetic service. It is really a shame that TAH is the only 24 hour VET and that they can deliver poor service and charge whatever they want and we must just be satisfied, as they are the only ones available to go to after hours.
