Inappropriate behaviour of Security and CNA Staff

<p>All though I realised that this complaint is about one of your tenants, I really feel you should be informed about it. If security staff violate the safety and security of an 8 year old child, (on Youth Day!!) Centre Management needs to be involved.</p> <p>This was our experience:</p> <p>16 June 2017, myself, a friend and our children went to Tyger Valley centre. While myself and my friend were in Clicks, the kids were in CNA. Afterwards my friend went to the new Lindt shop and I went to call the kids in CNA. As I left the shop the kids were walking a bit behind me, but as we got closer to the Lindt shop they came passed me and I noticed that my son (8) was not with the other children.</p> <p>As I turned around to look for him, I saw him standing between the 2 security guards in CNA. I could immediately see that he was distressed and close to tears. I went back the CNA and asked the security guards what the problem was? They said he did not have a slip for the item that was in a CNA bag. I asked them why they did not call me? They could see me, and one of them could have called me. What right do they have to keep a child from their mother? </p> <p>I also asked them why they did not take him to the cashiers so that he could point out at which cashier he paid. Furthermore, there was only ONE item in a CNA BAG!!! Where did they presume he got the CNA bag from – did they think I went behind the cashier count and stole a bag? </p> <p>As I was arguing with them, a woman from CNA came to asked what the problem was. She did not introduce herself and the security told her what the problem was. At that point the cashier came towards us and said that he paid for the emoji pillow at her till and did not ask for a slip. So the CNA woman said, “well then it is sorted out!!!” I insisted that the security guards apologised to him. The one did and the other one just laughed.</p> <p>I am so disgusted the way this was handled!! This happened on youth day!! My child’s right to safety was violated by security personnel and CNA staff clearly does have NO idea how to resolve client conflict! It was a horrible, unsettling and ****** act towards an 8 year old child. I am so disgusted the way this was handled!!</p> <p> </p>
