Rewards Points affect consumers negatively

I went to twist pavillion in Durban last weekend (Sat). I spoke to the sales person and told him I wanted to buy a liquid, I also told him that the last time I was there to buy a new top for R149 he advised me that I had 4 points and on my next purchase I would get a free bottle. So he says that points were adjusted and now I have 6 points and need 7 to claim a free liquid. So I asked in buying this bottle does it not mean I will have 7 points and get a free bottle? he says no after buying this bottle i will have seven points but must spend a further R200 to get that free bottle. So I told him I was prepared to go to the old days and pay R199 for my fifth bottle and get another free? he says i cant do it. I asked how many points do you need for a free bottle in the new system, he says 7. so I say I have 6, im buying one now which means 7 right? he says no spend another R200 more to get a free bottle. So I say that I was put in a worse off position after the new prices came about as i was expecting a free bottle under the old rules, so how many people have been affected negatively with this new price reduction? I told the guy i would complain, he didnt show any interest - useless
