Oily mess with complete disregard for our consumer rights

I 'upgraded' to a twisp edge from the clearo end of April 2016.

The first one sometimes just refused to work when I pressed the button. I cleaned it and replaced the atomiser and it still did the same. I took it to the twisp kiosk in Centurion mall 2 days after I bought it. I pressed the button a couple of times to show the lady it only works sometimes. I asked for an exchange.

After she simply refused, stating that she would need to test it for a while otherwise the company will take it off her pay, I tried to explain that the consumer protection act expressly states I am entitled to either a refund or exchange if I bought a faulty product and she kept on refusing. I told her that she and her company has no respect for the law, I left.

I then returned to Spar centurion where I bought it. A very friendly manager who has been versed in our laws promptly exchanged it for another one after I showed him it only works when it feels like working.

I wrote the experience off as inadequate training given to twisp employees when it come to consumer rights. Or simply a single company actually teaching their sales people to resist exchanges until a client gives up and leaves.

Then my new one started leaking. I spent more time cleaning it of oil coming out of the little holes on the sides than actually vaping.

Thinking it might just be some adjustments that needed to be done and knowing even the friendly Spar manager will not know how to help me, I returned to the centurion twisp kiosk.

This time a friendly lady helped. She cleaned it and said every time I refill I'm supposed to remove the atomiser and clean the bottom of the inside and make sure the 2 rubbers are in place. I thought maybe I should be more diligent then the leaking would stop.

Now I clean it thoroughly on a regular basis and watch the rubbers.

The leaking has not stopped.

I still spend more time wiping liquid off my hands and off its outside than vaping. I don't want to carry it around cause it's always sticky and oily.

I've been taking photos the last month and have many, many photos where I have to clean liquid off it and liquid coming out the holes.

This is a bad, bad quality product sold by a company that's trying to hide the fact that it sells a bad, bad product.

I should have read more reviews before blindly 'upgrading' my vape.

This edge leaking problem seems to be a common issue.

I would appreciate it if twisp can offer to refund, repair or replace my device as per the consumer protection act as the purchase was made within 6 months of the current date.

I would also appreciate the response from twisp being made on this public platform instead of simply saying there could be many reasons for the leaking and someone will call me to discuss. This seems to be their copy and paste reply.

I have been vaping a long time. It's not a missing rubber or my cleaning habits. It's the product...
