Delivery of 5kVA Perkins Silent diesel generator

BEWARE OF THIS ****! Al O'Brian advertised on Facebook a new 15kVA Perkins Diesel Generator for sale. When I enquired about the product, he said Dylan will be in touch. Dylan Charbeneau is the sales manager of www.appowerequipment.co.za which is located in Port Elizabeth. Dylan quoted on the Genset inclusive of delivery to Pretoria. After multiple emails and telephone call with Dylan, I decided to go ahead and purchase the unit. Payment in full was made on 01 February 2022, which included R6,612.50 delivery costs. Delivery was promised within 3-5 days as stock was available. After a week went by without the promised delivery, I contacted Dylan who said he will follow up. It would have seemed that Absolute Power Equipment have contracted TVNS FREIGHT FORWARDERS to handle their shipping and deliveries. I then received an email from https://tvnsfreightforwarders.info from Durban, who required a R20687.35 shipping insurance deposit. Although this deposit supposed to be 95% refundable, I found this extremely unusual. Due to the fact that I have already paid for delivery, I offered to arrange insurance of the shipment through our own insurer. This was declined. I then offered to collect the Genset using our own couriers but, which was also declined. When I reverted back to Absolute Power Equipment, all communication from anyone of the people I have dealt with, stopped.
