Bad Business Ethics
I wrote a review in February 2018 which has now been removed, because it was deemed to be defamatory. Well, it was an overall bad experience for me. I ordered and paid for a microwave oven and received an automated response that immediately raised my suspicions. I noticed on Hellopeter that they got bad reviews and cancelled my order. I tried calling their number, to no avail. I sent an email to cancel. For fourteen days I received no word from them. Meanwhile, I did everything in my power as consumer to get my money refunded: I called my bank; I contacted Samsung; I wrote to the consumer council; sent another email to Carte Blanche; contacted the financial intelligence centre; notified the revenue service; posted on my facebook page and contacted other people in the same boat. I also did a google search on the owners of the business and found that they were up to the same tricks in the UK. Suddenly, due to external pressure, I received 4 emails in one day from the owner! Yes, my order had been cancelled; yes, the will initiate refunding my money; yes they have authorised the intermediary payment company to refund me and finally, would I confirm that I had been notified of repayment. So now my previous post was removed, but my anger is still present. My money has been refunded, but only after bringing a load of heat to bear on the owner. I have spent valuable time trying to get a response and trying to get my money back. Now, would it be defamatory to say that it is a gamble to do business with this company? I challenge them to show statistics of how many people just give up and let them keep the money. Merriam-Webster define **** as a ********** or deceptive act or operation. If the business is not ********** (I got my money back!), then it is deceptive. It promises and doesn't deliver AS PROMISED IN WRITING. I will not do business with such a company.
