Poor products and no service received

My unfortunate tale started in early February when I purchased a bush cutter from AgMarket. Before I purchased the BC, Jacques was responsive and quick with replies. So I purchased the unit and week and a bit later, it arrived. My first issue was that the booklet, specifying how the BC is assembled, is a generic indication and it is not specific to this model. You have to read the booklet and guess. In addition, the BC actually comes from Turfmaster and they do some of the assembly for you aswell. This was not indicated and caused confusion as there is now a discrepancy between what the booklet say and what we have in front of us. This might be trivial to most, but it is a important process to me, wrong assembly can lead to a BC failure or accident, which AgMarket can conveniently distance themselves from. I sent a email to Jacques informing him of the booklet issue, I asked other questions and got not reply. Appro 3 days later I found a AgMarket add on Facebook and left a bad service response on there. Jacques did get back me and advised, I must contact Trufmaster. Jacques\AgMarket is only a middleman and has no technical knowledge. We tried to get hold of Johan at Turfmaster and once again, we had to wait. Johan and Jacques are very busy people and rarely get back to you. At the point of Johan getting back to me, extensive searches was done on Google and YouTube and we managed to put the BC together, ensuring everything is correct and working. Saturday morning arrives, 1h30m into operation, while using the blade, the arm, connecting the head to the motor snaps in half. This was incredibly disappointing. On Monday morning Jacques was informed and asked for photo’s which we supp****. Then we were asked to supply more photo’s which we did. Jacques then started distancing himself, telling me, I must go and speak to Johan. That the matter is between me and Turfmaster. This made me furious, as I purchased this unit from AgMarket and not Turfmaster. AgMarket simply takes no responsibility for their products that they are selling. Regardless, Johan called me a day later with a song and dance about how sorry he is. He promised to send a new arm and a waybill number. Nothing was sent. So 2 days later I once again sent messages to Johan asking what is happening and for the waybill number. Still nothing and no reply.

Seeing that I paid a huge sum of money for the bush cutter which is in pieces, that the middleman who sold the item to me does absolutely nothing to resolve this matter and that the supplier who actually supp**** the unit has done nothing, I have little to do but place a complaint on HelloPeter. In addition, a complaint has been laid with the National Consumer Commission against AgMarket. My hope is to one day, get my money back. Till then, I will have to purchase another Bush Cutter from the local Game or Marko.

My advice, stay away from AgMarket and Turfmaster.
