This is a typical case of a customer not wanting to accept the fact that the installation which was done by a third party had been substandard.  The customer's version is far removed from the truth and is intended to tarnish our good name and reputation we work hard at to maintain.
The true version of events is that the customer bought the said turbocharger from Turboworks on 20 November 2018 and afterwards (late December 2018) came to Turboworks' premises with the vehicle after having the turbocharger installed by a third party.  The turbocharger was whining and it was clear that it had been damaged.  The customer wanted Turboworks to remove the turbocharger, to which Turboworks agreed, but that would have incurred costs for the customer.  The customer decided to take the vehicle back to the person who installed the turbocharger and said he would bring back the turbocharger after his vacation.  Turboworks received the turbocharger on 2 January 2019 and did a failure analysis.  It cannot be disputed that the turbocharger failed due to oil contamination (impurities in oil).  Based on this, Turboworks rejected the claim.
It must be mentioned that Turboworks does a thorough Quality Control on all repaired turbochargers which includes that all turbochargers are balanced on a VSR (vibration sorting rig) balancing machine where oil is fed to turbocharger at the correct pressure and it is spun up to the correct operating speed within the specifications of the particular turbocharger.  This test emulates the exact same conditions the turbocharger would be operating under on the vehicle.  The turbocharger gets spun up a couple of times and it is balanced to the correct specification.  This proves that the turbocharger is delivered to the customer in perfect condition.
The failure report as well as the balance-sheet was presented to the customer.  The customer then complained about the amount of money he had spent on the vehicle thus far and wanted Turboworks to assist him financially by giving him discount if Turboworks was to repair the turbocharger again.  Turboworks gave the customer a substantial discount and repaired the turbocharger again.
