Bad quality shoes

<p> </p> <p> This was my complaint to Tsonga</p> <p>Please find attached photos of a pair of shoes that I have hardly worn. At the most 10 times.<br />I wore the shoes to a wedding last weekend and the sole on the one shoe disintegrated and fell apart.<br />I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the quality.<br />Yours sincerely <br />Linda Webster</p> <p> </p> <p> This was the reply I received</p> <p>So much for service !!</p> <p>Thank you for getting in touch with us, and for sending the photos; it helps for us to identify the style.</p> <p> </p> <p>I would like to give you an option of having them repaired, but before I do so, I would like to give you some product information to help you better understand the materials that Tsonga shoes are made with, that will help you understand how and why this has happened to the soles of your shoes.</p> <p> </p> <p>Cracked or disintegrating soles is not a problem faced only by Tsonga, but rather something that happens to all shoes made by the world's top comfort footwear brands. Why is this so you ask? The compound that we use to make our soles is called polyurethane and the reason why we use it is that it is the only material that gives the shock absorbing and flexible characteristics that we require of our shoes, in order to keep your feet and joints comfortable. The best way I know to describe the nature of polyurethane is if you imagine a ball of putty, as long as it is being played with it will remain soft and pliable but, if you leave it to stand on the shelf for some time and then try to play with it again, it is most likely to be brittle and break/crumble. This is the same thing that can happen to polyurethane and depending in the climate in which you live, humidity and extreme temperatures changes can exacerbate the chances of it happening. </p> <p> </p> <p>The best way to prevent it from happening is to wear your shoes as often as possible as the motion of walking will flex and 'squeeze' any absorbed moisture out. And, when they are not being worn, to store your shoes in a well ventilated area. To give you an idea that although this is a 'side-effect', if you will, of polyurethane, it happens to less than 1% of the shoes we manufacture.</p> <p> </p> <p>Back to your shoes. It will be possible to re-sole your shoes for you and there are two ways in which this can be done:</p> <p>1. If you drop your shoes at a Tsonga Concept store they will send them to us, we will re-sole and return to the store where you may collect and pay – the price for this is R240.oo per pair</p> <p>2. If you are not able to drop your shoes at a Tsonga Concept store you may send them to us, we will re-sole and once you have made payment by EFT we will courier back to you – the price for this is R365.00 per pair.</p> <p> </p> <p>Please let me know what you decide.</p> <p> </p> <p>Kind Regards</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
