With regard to Tsitsikamma Sunrise Caravan & camping, I would like to submit the following complaints to your attention: I have booked a caravan site with electrical point for the period 12 December 2016 to 22 December 2016 = 10 nights. The same day (19 Oct 2016) I paid the full amount of R5 900 and forwarded the proof of payment to ********** An 50% deposit is requested to secure booking and the balace must be paid in full 30 days before arrival - I now can understand why. On the 12 December 2016 with our arrival at the caravan park, nobody was aware of my booking and arrival for this day. Mr Smith took photo’s off documentation that I had to provide to him, to confirm my booking. The Tsitsikamma Sunrise campsite do not comply to standard conditions, because of the following: a. There is very limited camping sites with shade. Where there is tree’s, the branches is too low for a caravan to park. Sites for caravans is also to small - a regular caravan with it’s tent do not fit onto one stand. b. There is no lights in the camping area. c. No water taps or ******* bins are available near your site. d. Concrete slabs that is used to mark a road, makes it impossible for a motor vehicle or specially a caravan to enter the sites where shade is available (near the road) – the concrete slabs is too high and damage your vehicle/caravan. e. The ablutions is primitive and not up to standard: i) Open roof – no ceilings or roof-separation between the men and ladies bathrooms. ii) Cement floors - no tiles on floor or walls. iii) It was dirty and NO WATER was available. iv) No toilet paper was available. Security is a big problem: There is no security at Tsitsikamma Sunrise caravan park: a. The Caravan park is situated right next to a busy road. Farm workers, bush workers or any person using the road have access to the camping site (by foot or by vehicle). b. There is no proper fencing to secure the caravan park from intruders. c. People or your belongings are not safe or secured, with any person that can enter the caravan park – because of no proper fencing or entrance control or any form of security. Tsitsikamma Sunrise’s tariffs is very high for a camping site with: a. No Security or proper fencing. b. Ablution that does not comply to standard conditions - with no water, no toilet paper, no tiles, no ceilings or proper separation between the men and ladies ablution facilities. c. No lights in the camping area. d. No water points/taps or ******* bins available ect. We arrived there and left the camping site within an hour, because of the poor conditions. I have requested them to pay back the R5900 that we have paid, but they refuse - see their answer: Dear Mrs Kuhn, As you already stated in your email you booked an stand with an electrical point for the period 12 - 22 December 2016 and the 20th of October 2016 we received the full amount of R 5.900,-, so your booking was secured. Because of an unforntunate coincedence you were not at our arrival list of the 12th of December 2016 but direct when Mr. Smith arrived to welcome you he offered his apologies, to the both of you, and all was quickly solved. Mr. Smith helped you parking on one of the 47 still free stands you liked and informed you about the daily routine at the caravan park. Some time later our reservasionist called you personnally on your mobile phone to apologise that there was nobody at the time to welcome you and he was under the impression that you accepted his apologies. We will not reiterate here all of the many points you raised in your email, it is clear you were not happy and finally it ended in your free decision to leave the caravan park the same day. According to our T&C's there is no refund of the paid amount.
