This company phoned me today and when I asked why the agent was asking these questions and where they got my number from - things quickly got heated. When I said that having my details without my permission was contravening POPIA - he insisted that the call was allowed under POPIA. I then asked how they came upon my details, and stored them without my permission or knowledge. I asked not to be contacted again or to be opted into anything, and they promptly ended the call.
