Extremely poor performance by Trumod Modular Building Systems.

Trumod MBS erected the panel walls of our new home 4 years ago. They manufactured the panels in their East-Rand factory, but undertook no quality control. A number of clearly defective panels were thus manufactured and subsequently permanently installed in the wall structure; erosion of the magnesium-oxide boards in the panels, due to water ingress, now cause permanent structural damage. Also, some panels are clearly of inferior quality and are cracking due to hot summer temperatures. The relevant panels are probably all decomposing, some clearly and others out of sight. We have now struggled for exactly four years in an attempt to rectify the defects, but without any success. Trumod does not accept responsibility for the defects; they 'offered' to 'address' the problems 'at their own discretion' and with their own staff (due to a strict local labour policy, only local builders may be used; Trumod was aware of this prerequisite when they erected the walls). It seems as if the process that they intend to use, can at best be described as 'spit and paste' and will not solve the problem. Literally ALL of the defects/problems in the walls of the house can be traced back to Trumod. I will not recommend Trumod to any prospective user of their panel products, and actually regards a one-star quality allocation as being too lenient. Also note that Agrement SA, being the quality assurance authority for the alternative building industry, informed Trumod in writing, exactly two years ago, to address the problems that they caused. This instruction has unfortunately not been enforced yet, probably due to Trumod's dragging their heels and denying culpabilty.
