****wood Furniture, nothing about them is true!

I purchased 8 dining chairs from Truewood Furniture, expecting to receive chairs made from the wood/material I specifically ordered. What I received was a completely different story.

When the chairs were initially delivered 7 days after the purchase, I noticed that the legs of the chairs were visibly made from completely different wood, with clear inconsistencies in the timber used. One chair had 3 different wooden legs teak, mahogany and grey oak-for example. I therefore refused to accept 5 of the 8 chairs and had them taken back. This was not a matter of simply disliking the appearance of the chairs(I love the 3 that they got right), the other 5 chairs were not made from the wood I ordered.

Truewood subsequently arranged to redeliver the 5 chairs a few day later in September, arriving at approximately 18:30. Because they arrived late in the evening, I could not properly inspect them under adequate lighting. The following morning, I inspected them carefully in natural sunlight and discovered that the problem had not been resolved. The replacement chairs still had obvious inconsistencies and defects in the wood.

At this point, this has gone beyond a disappointing purchase. I ordered 8 chairs made to a particular specification, and Truewood has repeatedly attempted to supply chairs that do not correspond with what I purchased. The CEO responded to my complaint and made no attempt whatsoever to rectify their error.

What is particularly frustrating is having to repeatedly explain that I am not complaining because I don't like the chairs. I chose these chairs. I wanted these chairs, and I'm happy with the 3 they got right. My complaint is that the product of the 5 supp**** is not the product I ordered, and they spray painted the legs trying to conceal their error. But true wood can't be mistaken, and this is far from true wood.

I have now requested that the order be cancelled and my money refunded, but Truewood has refused to properly resolve the matter. The matter has been escalated through various channels, and will result in court should Truewood continue to dismiss my request. What's sad is that I had made a few other purchases from Truewood, and had received a quotation to purchase other furniture items, now they've lost what could've been a loyal client.

For a furniture company, the quality and consistency of the materials should be fundamental.

My experience has been extremely disappointing, and I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing from Truewood to carefully inspect every item against the original specification before accepting delivery.

I purchased furniture expecting the product I ordered. I should not have to fight a furniture company to receive exactly that.

Truewood Furniture: this isn't about preference. It's about supplying what the customer actually paid for.
