Trucco is NOT what they “POST” to be on IG

Here are the facts & you can decide for yourself whether to make use of their services or not: 30 Jan - Book & pay (in full) for my makeup to be done on 23 March for my baby shower. 1 Feb - No acknowledgment of booking or payment received so *I* follow up with them. 22 Mar - (ONE DAY BEFORE EVENT) No communication received regarding a time for the appointment or their physical address in Fourways so, once again, *I* reach out to them to confirm these details. 23 Mar - (DAY OF THE EVENT) At 06:46am, I receive an almost 2 minute long WhatsApp voice note explaining that my appointment had been cancelled due to the makeup artist falling ill but that I would be refunded in full on the day AND that, as a matter of courtesy, they would cover the expense of me having to have my makeup done by another artist at the last minute on the day of my event. They suggested I go to MAC which I did. I received a full refund from Trucco & then paid R2k at MAC to get my makeup done last minute - How it works at MAC is you have to buy products worth R2k in order to qualify to have an artist do your full glam makeup look in store. I sent Trucco my slip as proof of this service so that I could be reimbursed. 3 April - (TODAY) I have still not received the reimbur*****t & have followed up multiple times only to be told that it will be done as soon as they can confirm my appointment details with MAC - This is as simple as calling the store & confirming the payment & makeup application details. It is clear that they have no intention of reimbursing me as they said they would so I told Trucco that I would be sharing my honest experience which would likely result in reputational damage to which I was threatened with legal action (but they can’t even pay me the R2k reimbur*****t :D).

This was very disappointing from start to finish & definitely not what I had expected as they paint a completely different picture of their business on social media. We all understand that things happen that are beyond our control, but to make provision for this, they should have had an artist on standby. They should also never have had made promises that they had no intention of keeping.

There are far better, more deserving artists & reliable businesses to make use of. I recommend steering clear of this one!
