Heartless and *****

Recently My wife and I booked a ticket, for my father in law to travel, through tripsta. When the due date for him to travel came, he was taken up in hospital with a fairly serious condition which rendered travel impossible for him. We organised through through the airline directly that the flight could be taken at another time. I have to mention that we had all the relevant documentation and notes from the hospital and various doctors.

A few months later we asked tripsta if we could rather get a refund for the ticket so that we could book another flight for my father in law. (according to the CPA of south africa when someone is hospitalised it should be a full refund). We contacted them and they informed us that they were dealing with the airline and would revert back to us soon with regards to the refund. This went on for a long time back and forth between ourselves and Tripsta.co.za ( in the range of three months). They took ages to reply and always with the same excuse that the airline had not responded yet. Eventualy we contacted the airline directy (as we knew someone high up there) and they informed us that tripsta.co.za had already requested the refund and that it had been paid to them. We informed tripsta.co.za that we knew about this and that we wanted the money back. Tripsta.co.za just kept on insisting that the airline has declined to pay the refund and that they can not do anything. Till today we have not heard from them again and not seen a cent of the money.

Please be aware that they sit in Greece and that a person will never have good service from them. We also tried to call them many times and it takes at the least an hour for them to answer the phone.

I would never recommend them and hope that one of there mangement sees this and actually worries about the direction their company is taking and contacts us to rattify the situation.
