Avoid Trimtech 900ti trimmer

Thought I'd support local to replace a 20+ year old trimmer, so bought a Trimtech 900ti. Big mistake. In this case, local is VERY un-lekker. Should have checked reviews. It is absolutely the worst piece of **** garden equipment I've bought in 30+ years. Flimsy, low quality plastic on the handle, head, guard and wheel mount. Poor workmanship - the plastic fittings at the ends of the shaft don't fit properly, hence the fit into the handle and head is poor, plus the circular clip that is supposed to hold the handle doesn't stay clipped in and vibrates off during use, so the handle is a SAFETY RISK! The cable hook is a joke... the space in the handle to loop the cable through is too narrow and the hook is too near the space so you have to fight with your extension to hook / unhook it. The edging wheel bracket is so soft that it's impossible to trim a straight edge when you rest the weight of the trimmer on it as it bounces all over the place once you start moving along the edge, feels like a 1980's Renault 5 with worn shocks. The handle is so flimsy that within 5 minutes of use it already started giving at the seams. To crown it, the automatic line feeder is a total fail, press down during operation and instead of feeding out it pulls the line in. Have to feed manually and have to rewind the line completely at least once with every use. Will never again buy Trimtech or any other brands made by Tandem Lawn Technologies. 34 years experience in the industry but produce such ****. Already been back to the retailer twice with this thing. Have accepted my mistake and will just use it till it inevitably breaks within a year and then buy a quality imported one again.
