Poor quality

In August I purchased a pair of black, men's slip-on shoes. I made the classic mistake of assuming higher price/fancy shop = better quality, but soon after the heel of the right shoe started collapsing. On recent inspection I found the side of the heel showed a crack. Disappointed with the quality I returned it to the Cresta store where I bought the shoes. There I was told that the shoes were first to be sent in for inspection before they could decide what to do (repair/refund etc), i.e. no refund or exchange. If I'd bought a pair at Woolworths I may have encountered similar quality problems, but paid less and been offered an immediate refund if I returned it. Just another example of cheap and nasty with a fancy storefront.
