Disgusting customer service
The itinerary, booked via Travel Wings South Africa, included a domestic leg followed by an international Qatar Airways flight on the 04/07/2025. 6 days prior to the flights (29/06/2025), a schedule change was communicated for the international leg, but subsequently, the domestic flight was cancelled by the airline. After several forms of communication, I was not offered any rebooking or alternative arrangements for the domestic leg. As a result, a day before the flights (03/07/2025), I had to purchase a new domestic flight at my own expense in order for the passenger to meet the international departure. Upon arrival for the international flight (04/07/2025), despite holding a valid ticket, the passenger was denied checking in and boarding on the international Qatar Airways flight. As a result, prior to the check in desk closing, I contacted Qatar regarding the denial, they informed me to contact the booking agent. I called Travel Wings, they were looking into it and would get back to me. Time passed without them getting back to me with a solution, within that time the check in desk closed and the passenger was left stranded. After several calls and emails with Travel Wings, they offered a flight from RZE, however, I informed them that the passenger was now in WAW after having to book the domestic flight separately. Travel Wings had sent an email to Qatar on Friday afternoon requesting a rebooking for the flight. I received an email the following morning stating they had a new flight available and I should contact them. I contacted them and there was a back and forth again regarding the flights. I searched for alternative flights and found one with Qatar Airways, I emailed it to Travel Wings, and called them to book the passenger on that flight, which was leaving that afternoon at 15:50. They were again going back and forth, blaming me for booking a domestic flight after they had not gotten back to me. By 12:30 (05/07/2025) there was still no conclusion, forcing me to purchase a new international ticket at significant additional cost.
To date (28/07/2025), they are blaming me for booking a domestic flight because they hadn't secured one or informed me of a new domestic flight. The passenger is a pensioner, and was stuck at the airport for over 24 hours and they did nothing to help the situation except blame me for booking a domestic flight, and subsequently an international flight because I wasn't going to let the passenger sit another 24 hours while they attempt to find a flight.
