Lets have them pay for something they cannot use ?

Really disappointed with Trappers and Hi-Tec South-Africa. Bought a pair of Hi-Tech vellies on 12 October 2019 from Trappers (Secunda Mall) and within less than 3 weeks, the left shoe developed two small holes. If you rub your finger over the holes, the material unravels even more. Took it back to the store where the store team leader and a cashier was shocked at the poor quality of the shoes and that the shoe's material was too thin when compared to the shoe they have on display. they both agreed that this is not the quality one should expect from the shoes. They booked the shoes in and said they would contact Hi-Tec South-Africa today to confirm the next steps. Trappers (Secunda Mall) called me this afternoon to inform me that they are sending the shoes to Hi-Tec South-Africa for evaluation and that the whole process could take 4 to 6 weeks. This is unacceptable, I now paid R799 for something that I cannot use ?? Surely if it is clearly a quality issue this can be dealt with more speedily ?
