Transunion listing me without Creditor's INSTRUCTION

In January 2016, my Standard Bank credit card was handed over with a balance of R9600. I made an arrangement with their attorneys to pay R500 per month. This arrangement lasted until April 2017 when I accepted an offer from the attorneys for a 20% discount. I made the settlement and even got a settlement letter from the lawyers. I submitted it to Standard Bank who updated the account as settled on Transunion and Experian.

However; some time last year Standard bank listed the R1277 settlement discount on the credit bureaus as outstanding. After lodging a dispute with both the bureaus and the recoveries department at the bank, it was removed. In late January, the same amount was now listed AGAIN(this time under default listing!!!). Even worse: Transunion has the Supplier Name listed as "Unknown". How do you list someone for a debt they owe an unknown creditor? I had to investigate for myself to figure out who the creditor was!!!

On 01/02/2018 I contacted Standard Bank and they informed me they would rectify the matter with Transunion and they even sent me a confirmation sms that they are handling the issue. I am still listed on ITC.

On 20/02/2018, Standard Bank contacted me and emailed that they have instructed the credit bureaus to remove this erroneous listing. They also mentioned that they never instructed Transunion to list this amount in the first place.

Below was their email:

"Ref: ********** 424

We refer to your comment, and the outset apologise for the inconvenience and frustration this matter has caused you.

We do notice that your credit card account was indeed paid up through a discounted settlement. For some reason, your profile was not updated accordingly. Please note that the bank does not regularly monitor customer credit report however, we do rely on the information that the credit bureaus have provided.

We have since forwarded an instruction to the credit bureaus to remove the adverse listing as well as update your profile accordingly.

The turnaround time is 48 business hours.

We trust you will find the above in order."

I have been waiting since to see if my credit profile on Transunion has been updated. NOTHING!!! When I call Transunion I get no help from the call centre as they cannot confirm or deny whether Standard bank has instructed them to do anything.

I have even logged a dispute with ref: TU ********** 9-000067-01 and submitted documentation. To this day Transunion has not bothered to acknowledge receipt of the query. I need to apply for car finance and am sitting here in limbo.

Wow!
