TransUnion Failing to Remove Debt Review Status – NCR Non-Compliance
I am extremely frustrated with the service received from TransUnion South Africa regarding the removal of my debt review status.
My Debt Review Clearance Certificate (Form 19) was submitted on 10 February 2026. According to National Credit Regulator (NCR) guidelines, this update should be completed within 21 business days. However, well beyond this timeframe, my profile still reflects that I am under debt review.
There has been no clear communication or resolution. The commonly mentioned issue of the DHS system being offline is not an acceptable excuse, especially when there is an alternative system (CBA) available that can process updates within 3–5 working days.
This delay is causing serious prejudice to me as a consumer, negatively affecting my credit profile and limiting my financial opportunities.
I expect the following to be addressed urgently:
Immediate removal of the debt review status from my profile Confirmation once the update has been completed A clear explanation for the delay and non-compliance with NCR regulations
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will continue escalating it through the NCR, the Credit Ombud, and other relevant channels.
Consumers should not have to struggle this much to have their records updated in line with the law.
